Learn about our Editorial Process Updated on January 30, 2020 As a woman, you are not automatically assigned the job of "chief worrier." Instead, fill your heart with trust, hope, and God's peace. You'll sleep so much better at night. Give God Your Worries Give God your worries. Sue Chastain and Darleen Araujo "Therefore I tell you, stop being perpetually uneasy (anxious and worried) about your life, what you shall eat or what you shall drink; or about your body, what you shall put on. Is not life greater (in quality) than food, and the body (far above and more excellent) than clothing?" (Amplified Bible) -Matthew 6:25 Don't Let Fear Be Your Guide Don't let fear be your guide. Sue Chastain and Darleen Araujo Don't let fear be the reason for your decisions. Instead, fill your heart and mind with positive, life-affirming words that will never change. Look to God's Word. "For God did not give us a spirit of timidity (of cowardice, of craven and cringing and fawning fear), but (He has given us a spirit) of power and of love and of calm and well-balanced mind and discipline and self-control." (Amplified Bible) -2 Timothy 1:7 Be an Example of Forgiveness Be an example of forgiveness. Sue Chastain and Darleen Araujo Women will always be examples of right living to their children. Showing your kids what forgiveness looks like will always be one of your most important examples. "Be gentle and forbearing with one another and, if one has a difference (a grievance or complaint) against another, readily pardoning each other; even as the Lord has (freely) forgiven you, so must you also forgive." (Amplified Bible) -Colossians 3:13 Teach True Love Through Respect Teach true love through respect. Sue Chastain and Darleen Araujo One of the best things you can do for your children is to love and respect their father. Teaching kids early about real love is an amazing gift they will treasure forever. "Be imitators of God (copy Him and follow His example), as well-beloved children (imitate their father)." (Amplified Bible) -Ephesians 5:5 God's Will Is Worth the Wait Sue Chastain and Darleen Araujo Sometimes the hardest thing to do is to wait for God to show you what's next in your life. But just know that God is never late and it's always worth the wait. "And let us not lose heart and grow weary and faint in acting nobly and doing right, for in due time and at the appointed season we shall reap, if we do not loosen and relax our courage and faint." (Amplified Bible) -Galatians 6:9 God's Will Fulfills Our Dreams Sue Chastain and Darleen Araujo Don't forget that God has filled your heart with dreams. When you choose God's path to those dreams, the doors will open. God wants you to be happy more than you do. "I am able to do nothing from Myself (independently, of my own accord-but only as I am taught by God and as I get His orders). Even as I hear, I judge (I decide as I am bidden to decide. As the voice comes to me, so I give a decision), and my judgment is right (just, righteous), because I do not seek or consult my own will, (I have no desire to do what is pleasing to myself, my own aim, my own purpose), but only the will and pleasure of the Father who sent me." (Amplified Bible) -John 5:30 Nothing Is Too Hard for God Nothing is too hard for God. Sue Chastain and Darleen Araujo Don't be afraid to talk to God every single day. Nothing is too hard for Him. Every prayer is like planting a seed of hope. You never know when God will send you a harvest. "You have not chosen Me, but I have chosen you and I have appointed you (I have planted you), that you might go and bear fruit and keep on bearing, and that your fruit may be lasting (that it may remain, abide), so that whatever you ask the Father in My name (as presenting all that I AM), He may give it to you." (Amplified Bible) -John 15:16 Listen First, Then Plan Listen first, then plan. Sue Chastain and Darleen Araujo Take the time to listen to God before you make your own plans. God's idea will always work better than yours. "If you will listen diligently to the voice of the Lord your God, being watchful to do all His commandments which I command you this day the Lord your God will set you high above all the nations of the earth." (Amplified Bible) -Deuteronomy 28:1 God Has a Plan Just for You God has a plan just for you. Sue Chastain and Darleen Araujo Life is too short to compare yourself with everybody else. God has a very special plan just for you. "But those who wait for the Lord (who expect, look for, and hope in Him) shall change and renew their strength and power; they shall lift their wings and mount up (close to God) as eagles (mount up to the sun); they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint or become tired." (Amplified Bible) -Isaiah 40:31 You Can Make a Difference Images: © Sue Chastain and Darleen Araujo Make up your mind you're going to make a difference to somebody else. You can be a blessing, you can say something positive to somebody else, and you can focus on making the most out of every moment. "So also faith, if it does not have works (deeds and actions of obedience to back it up), by itself is destitute of power (inoperative, dead)."
