Sparrow With 20 weeks in the Top 10, this song was definitely a hit for West. Off of his release, Something To Say, Matthew West has a great deal to say after successful vocal cord surgery. This album isn't simply food for thought ... it's food for your spirit and your soul. 02 of 40 "Let it Fade" - Jeremy Camp Jeremy Camp - Beyond Measure. Courtesy of: BEC Jeremy and wife Adrienne hit every note on this beautiful pop/rock tune, making it one of the best from the CD (which is excellent in itself). "Let it Fade" spent 16 weeks in the Top 10, allowing it to hold onto #2 easily. As always, Chris did a fine job of bringing a classic to the forefront of the 21st century. EMI "Jesus Messiah," which spent 13 weeks in the Top 10, is off of Chris Tomlin's 2008 release Hello Love. This song released to radio on June 13th and it was the most added song on Christian Adult Contemporary, Christian Hit Radio, and Christian Inspirational radio that week, with 97 total adds (according to Radio & Records). Reunion "Give Me Your Eyes," which spent 12 weeks in the Top 10 (most of them at #1), is off of Brandon's 2008 release, What If We, which hit stores on August 19th. A soft melody carries a big stick on this tune. 09 of 40 "Never Going Back To OK" - The Afters The Afters - Never Going Back To OK. Columbia Spending 12 weeks in the Top 10, "Never Going Back To OK" is the title track off of the band's February release. Upbeat pop describes this tune and The Afters do it quite well. 10 of 40 "All Because Of Jesus" - Fee Fee - We Shine. INO With 11 weeks in the Top 10, "All Because of Jesus" came to us from Fee's 2007 release, We Shine. You've heard this tune before because Casting Crowns covered it on The Altar And The Door, but you haven't heard it like this. 11 of 40 "East to West" - Casting Crowns Casting Crowns - The Altar and the Door. Beach Street Records This beautiful song, off of the Casting Crowns release The Altar and The Door, is one of my favorites. The usual fare from Casting Crowns, "East to West" boasts deep, meaningful lyrics, a perfect blend of vocals and sterling musicianship. This song spent 9 weeks on the Top 10 charts. Beach Street Records With 8 weeks in the Top 10, "Every Man" is another single from The Altar and The Door. As always, Mark Hall hits home with the lyrics on this tune, reminding us that there are plenty of everyday type people out there waiting for someone to give them some words of hope, encouragement, and love. 13 of 40 "Unbreakable" - Fireflight Fireflight - Unbreakable. Flicker Records "Unbreakable" spent 8 weeks in the Top 10. It is the title track off of the March 2008 release from Fireflight. This tune was featured on NBC's Bionic Woman and it rocks! 14 of 40 "Washed By The Water" - NEEDTOBREATHE Needtobreathe - The Heat. Atlantic Records With 8 weeks in the Top 10, "Washed By The Water" came from NEEDTOBREATHE's 2007 The Heat. Piano-driven and based on a true story, this one is a real winner. 15 of 40 "Cinderella" - Steven Curtis Chapman Steven Curtis Chapman - This Moment. Sparrow This Steven Curtis Chapman song is off of This Moment, and it's sure to be any parent's favorite because we all have those "Cinderella" moments with our kids, where we take the time to smell the flowers and soak up the joy that God puts into them. Beautiful on its own, this song became especially poignant after Steven's youngest daughter, Maria, was killed in a tragic accident at home. Essential Records This beautiful song is off of Matt Maher's Essential Records debut, Empty & Beautiful, and it spent seven weeks in the Top 10. You've heard the term "outta this world" ... well, this tune actually was! It went into space in June on NASA’s Space Shuttle Discovery Mission STS-124. Fervent Records "I'm Letting Go" is off of Francesca's debut album with Fervent, My Paper Heart. The song, just like Francesca Battistelli herself, is catchy and the pop tune is a great taste of what's to come on the rest of the album. 20 of 40 "What Life Would Be Like" - Big Daddy Weave Big Daddy Weave - What Life Would Be Like. Fervent "What Life Would Be Like" is the title track of Big Daddy Weave's July release. This great song spent five weeks in the Top 10. 21 of 40 "Always" - Jason Champion Jason Champion - Reflections. EMI Gospel "Always" came to us from Jason Champion's debut CD, Reflections. With an R&B groove, this song is full of love and encouragement. 22 of 40 "Love is Here" - Tenth Avenue North Tenth Avenue North - Over and Underneath. Integrity "Love is Here" is off of the band's debut CD, Over and Underneath. Soft rock with touching lyrics, this tune could easily be an unplugged version of Switchfoot. 23 of 40 "Never Would Have Made It" - Marvin Sapp Marvin Sapp - Thirsty. Provident "Never Would Have Made It" is off of Marvin Sapp's seventh album, Thirsty, which hit stores in the summer of 2007. With a voice that is as smooth as glass and the background vocals courtesy of Myron Butler & Levi, this motivational and moving song has everything going for it. 24 of 40 "Those Nights" - Skillet Skillet - Comatose. Courtesy of: Lava/Atlantic and Ardent/SRE "Those Nights" is one of the great singles to come from 2006's Comatose. Hitting home with a wide range of people, this one "clicks" because we've all had "those nights." 25 of 40 "No Matter What It Takes" - Jeremy Camp Jeremy Camp - Beyond Measure. Courtesy of: BEC "No Matter What It Takes" is another hit single off of the popular Beyond Measure. Kicking into high gear, this rocker lifts you up ... way up! 26 of 40 "I Trust You" - James Fortune & Fiya James Fortune & Fiya - The Transformation. Worldwide Music "I Trust You" is off of the April 2007 release, The Transformation. With a very Kirk Franklin-ish type of sound, this song (and the wonderful vocals and harmonies) soars. 27 of 40 "Believe" - Mainstay Mainstay - Become Who Are You. BEC Recordings "Believe" brought us Justin Anderson doing some incredible vocals (not unusual, I know) over more "pop" sounding acoustic music. 28 of 40 "Song of Hope" - Robbie Seay Band Robbie Seay Band - Give Yourself Away. Sparrow Records "Song of Hope (Heaven Come Down)" is off of the band's 2007 release, Give Yourself Away. Reminiscent of David Crowder Band, this modern worship song is upbeat and engaging. 29 of 40 "There Will Be a Day" - Jeremy Camp Jeremy Camp - Speaking Louder Than Before. BEC Recordings This powerful and passionate song comes to us from Jeremy's November 25th release, Speaking Louder Than Before. The song has set a ton of records at radio and once you hear it, you'll certainly understand why. Outstanding! Word Records With a bit of a country flair, "How You Live (Turn Up The Music)," the title track off of Point of Grace's latest release, is a delightful tune with some strong meaning and a message that we all need to remember. 32 of 40 "Yours" - Steven Curtis Chapman Steven Curtis Chapman - This Moment. Sparrow "Yours" is another wonderful, heartfelt song that came to us from This Moment. This worship anthem reminds us that God rules it all and we truly do belong to him. Curb Natalie Grant showed that she has a little rock in her with "I Will Not Be Moved." Off of her latest release, Relentless, this is a great song about how being broken keeps us grounded and lets us find strength. 34 of 40 "Captives Come Home" - Run Kid Run Run Kid Run - Love at the Core. Tooth & Nail Records "Captives Come Home" came from the April release, Love At The Core. In a word, this song is big ... big vocals, big chorus, big punch. 35 of 40 "Remind Me I'm Alive" - Ivoryline Ivoryline - There Came A Lion. Tooth & Nail Records "Remind Me I'm Alive" rocked its way off of Ivoryline's February release, There Came A Lion. 36 of 40 "Here I Am" - downhere downhere - Ending is Beginning. Centricity Records "Here I Am" came from the September release, Ending is Beginning. The beautifully done pop ballad is about our own flaws and insecurities and how while we will fall and fail, God can and will put us back together again. 37 of 40 "Come Thou Fount" - Jadon Lavik Jadon Lavik - Roots Run Deep. BEC Recordings "Come Thou Fount" is off of Jadon's February 2008 release, Roots Run Deep. This acoustic version of the traditional hymn has a traditional delivery, yet it's got a modern feel which will delight those who love the old as well as those who lean toward the new. 38 of 40 "Carry Me Down" - Demon Hunter Demon Hunter - Storm The Gates Of Hell. Tooth & Nail "Carry Me Down" is one of the slower, more melodic songs on Storm The Gates Of Hell. Not typical DH, but not bad either. 39 of 40 "Mighty To Save" - Laura Story Laura Story - Great God Who Saves. INO "Mighty To Save" comes to us from Laura's March 2008 release, Great God Who Saves. Laura's cover of the Hillsong tune gives it a pop flavor and she definitely makes it her own. 40 of 40 "By Your Side" - Tenth Avenue North Tenth Avenue North - Over and Underneath. Integrity "By Your Side" is the second radio single from the band's debut album, Over and Underneath. With very Jon Forman sounding vocals, the song is written from the perspective of Jesus himself and asks some hard questions about why we don't seem to feel like he's enough.
