Learn about our Editorial Process Updated on June 25, 2019 "Life is serious, but I do think that God wants us to enjoy the things He's given us, like music." - TobyMac, From Mfyi TobyMac, aka Kevin Michael "Toby" McKeehan, was born October 22, 1964, in Fairfax, Virginia. He has always been a man driven and committed in every area of his life, whether it's as a husband, father, performer, songwriter, and producer, businessman or President of Gotee Records. And while he's "arrived" by anyone's standards, the Grammy nominations, gold records, and number one singles haven't slowed him down one bit. He's as committed today as a "success" as he was as a new face in Christian music. Growing up in the VA suburbs adjacent to DC, he remembers falling in love with the beats, rhymes, and production of early rap. “I remember hearing a Kurtis Blow/Trouble Funk song on the radio and going to a local record store, and they didn’t have it. Since I couldn’t drive yet, I took the Metrorail into downtown DC and found a store that had that song; I bought the Sugarhill Gang’s Rappers Delight that day as well. From there, it just caught fire. I fell in love with hip-hop music." tobyMac Discography: ***THIS IS NOT A TEST***, (2015) Eye'M All Mixed Up (2014) Eye On It (2012) Dubbed & Freq'd: A Remix Project (2012) Christmas in Diverse City (2011) Tonight (2010) Alive & Transported (2008) Portable Sounds (2007) (2005) Welcome to Diverse City (2004) Re:Mix Momentum (2003) Momentum (2001) Top Songs by tobyMac Share Your Favorite tobyMac songs - and see what songs others have shared tobyMac Pictures: At the 36th Annual Dove Awards - 1 At the 36th Annual Dove Awards - 2 tobyMac News tobyMac on Tour - Concert dates for tobyMac 2015 K-LOVE Fan Awards - tobyMac is up for Best Live Show tobyMac gets a Grammy Nod in 2014 Four wins for tobyMac at the 2013 Dove Awards tobyMac wins two Billboard Music Awards (2013) tobyMac Gets a GRAMMY Nomination for 2013 A Christmas Album Dove Nod for tobyMac in 2012 2011 BMI Christian Music Awards - tobyMac Named Songwriter of the Year tobyMac up for Six Dove Awards in 2011 tobyMac Wins Song of the Year at the BMI 2010 Christian Music Awards Camp Electric 2009 tobyMac Wins at the 2009 GRAMMYs tobyMac Wins at the 2008 Doves tobyMac Gets a GRAMMY nod (2008) tobyMac Goes Gold ...
