Experience

McKenzie Perkins is a writer and independent researcher specializing in southeast Asian religion and culture, education, and college life. She has produced research in history and culture of eastern civilizations, education and political development in underdeveloped countries, and media and interpersonal relationships.

McKenzie served as an intern for the Wassmuth Center for Human Rights, where she helped to develop and grow an ongoing campaign to bring bicycles and backpacks to children in rural Cambodia. She traveled with the program to Cambodia in 2016.

McKenzie worked with the National Science Foundation and National Public Radio through her university, and has tutored refugees in English and citizenship test preparation. She has also taught English to young learners in rural Spain.

Education

McKenzie earned a B.S. in political science (with an emphasis on comparative politics and international relations) from Boise State University. She completed additional religious studies coursework at the University of Oxford.
