After addressing Jesus under a variety of attributes and imploring Him to have mercy on us, the litany then asks Jesus to deliver us from all of the evils and dangers that confront us in life. A Litany for Communion Like all litanies, the Litany of the Most Holy Name of Jesus is designed to be recited communally, but it can be prayed alone. When recited in a group, one person should lead, and everyone else should make the italicized responses. Each response should be recited at the end of each line until a new response is indicated.
