Learn about our Editorial Process Updated on March 28, 2019 Jason Douglas Crabb was born on March 3, 1977, in Beaver Dam, Kentucky to Gerald and Terri Crabb. At the age of 13, Jason's parents divorced and he went a little wild. A year later, he hit the road with his family, (dad Gerald and step-mom Kathy Crabb), and his siblings, twins Adam and Aaron, and sisters Kelly and Terah. They went on to become one of the most beloved Southern Gospel groups of all times with 16 #1 hits, 11 Dove Awards, and three Grammy nods. The Crabb Family retired in 2007, with Jason on lead, but occasionally they do reunion concerts. Jason signed a solo deal in 2009 and his first album started his path to crossing over from just Southern Gospel to country and CCM. A move to Reunion Records saw his first release with them in 2015 and music critics are lovin' the new sound. Family Life Married to his wife Shellye on May 12, 1998, the two are parents to two daughters, Ashleigh Taylor (born February 13, 2003) and Emmaleigh Love Crabb (born July 21, 2005). Quote "Having grace and mercy on someone is such a form of love. And to me, that is the message of Christ. That is who I am. That is what I'm about."
