Target Earth

Active in 15 countries, Target Earth is a group of individuals, churches, college fellowship and various ministries that heeds the callout to be stewards over everything God created. The group helps feed the hungry, save endangered animals, rebuild forests, and more. The groups mission is "Serving the Earth, Serving the Poor," which explains the desire of the organization to build a sustainable future. The organization offers internships and short-term team efforts to go into the field and make a difference.

A Rocha Trust

A Rocha is a Christian nature conservation organization that does work around the world in a cross-cultural manner. The organization is identified by five core commitments: Christian, Conservation, Community, Cross-Cultural, and Cooperation. The five commitments are seine in the goal or the organization to use God's love to promote scientific research, environmental education, and community-based conservation projects.

Evangelical Environmental Network

EEN was founded in 1993 and has a mission to "educate, equip, inspire, and mobilize Christians in their effort to care for God's creation." They promote stewardship over the Earth and advocate for environmental policies that honor God's dictate that we "tend the garden." There is a blog, daily devotional, and more to help Christians understand our connection to the environment.

Plant With Purpose

Plant with purpose sees a connection between poverty and the environment. This Christian organization was founded in 1984 by Tom Woodard who realized that the truly poor of the world were rural poor (those who depended most on the land for survival). The organization strives for a holistic approach to fighting poverty and deforestation in areas that require sustainable change. They currently work in Africa, Asia, the Caribbean, Latin America, and are also focusing on Haiti relief.

Eco-Justice Ministries

Eco-Justice Ministries is a Christian environmental organization looking to help churches develop ministries that effectively "work toward social justice and environmental sustainability." The organization offers links to environmental events and action alerts to inform churches about environmental public policy. The organization's Eco-Justice Notes is a newsletter that comments on environmental matters from the Christian perspective.

National Religions Partnership for the Environment

The National Religious Partnership for the Environment is not strictly Christian. It is made up of independent faith groups including the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops, the National Council of Churches U.S.A., the Coalition on the Environment and Jewish Life, and the Evangelical Environmental Network. The goal is to offer scholarship, train leaders, educate others on public policy in regards to environmental sustainability and social justice. The organization is founded on the idea that if we are called to love our Creator, then we must also love what He created.

Au Sable Institute of Environmental Studies (AESE) on campuses

To promote Earth stewardship, Au Sable Institute provides "field-based, university-level courses in environmental studies and environmental science" at colleges in the Midwest, Pacific Northwest, and India. The class credits are transferrable to many universities. They also assist in environmental education and restoration in the northwest lower Michigan area.

American Scientific Affiliation: A Fellowship of Christians in Science

The ASA is a group of scientists that no longer sees a line in the sand between science and God's word. The purpose of the organization is to "investigate any area relating Christian faith and science and to make known the results of such investigations for comment and criticism" by the Christian and scientific communities. The work of the organization also focuses on environmental science in which many papers, discussions, and educational materials are presented from an Evangelical perspective with the hopes that churches and Christians will continue to build on current recycling and environmental conservation efforts.
