Bible Verses for Father's Day 1 Chronicles 29:17I know, my God, that you test the heart and are pleased with integrity. All these things I have given willingly and with honest intent. Deuteronomy 1:29-31Then I said to you, "Do not be terrified; do not be afraid of them. The LORD your God, who is going before you, will fight for you, as he did for you in Egypt, before your very eyes, and in the desert. There you saw how the LORD your God carried you, as a father carries his son, all the way you went until you reached this place." Joshua 1:9"This is my command—be strong and courageous! Do not be afraid or discouraged. For the Lord your God is with you wherever you go." Joshua 24:15"And if it is evil in your eyes to serve the Lord, choose this day whom you will serve, whether the gods your fathers served in the region beyond the River, or the gods of the Amorites in whose land you dwell. But as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord." 1 Kings 15:11And Asa did what was right in the eyes of the Lord, as David his father had done. Malachi 4:6He will turn the hearts of the fathers to their children, and the hearts of the children to their fathers; or else I will come and strike the land with a curse. Psalm 103:13, 17The Lord is like a father to his children, tender and compassionate to those who fear him ... the love of the Lord remains forever with those who fear him. His salvation extends to the children’s children. Proverbs 3:1-12My son, do not forget my teaching, but keep my commands in your heart, for they will prolong your life many years and bring you peace and prosperity. Let love and faithfulness never leave you; bind them around your neck, write them on the tablet of your heart. Then you will win favor and a good name in the sight of God and man. Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight. Do not be wise in your own eyes; fear the Lord and shun evil. This will bring health to your body and nourishment to your bones. Honor the Lord with your wealth, with the firstfruits of all your crops; then your barns will be filled to overflowing, and your vats will brim over with new wine. My son, do not despise the Lord’s discipline, and do not resent his rebuke, because the Lord disciplines those he loves, as a father the son he delights in. Proverbs 3:32For the LORD detests a perverse manbut takes the upright into his confidence. Proverbs 10:9The man of integrity walks securely, but he who takes crooked paths will be found out. Proverbs 14:26In the fear of the Lord one has strong confidence, and his children will have a refuge. Proverbs 17:24A discerning man keeps wisdom in view, but a fool's eyes wander to the ends of the earth. Matthew 7:9–11Or which one of you, if his son asks him for bread, will give him a stone? Or if he asks for a fish, will give him a serpent? If you then, who are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give good things to those who ask him! Ephesians 6:4Fathers, do not exasperate your children; instead, bring them up in the training and instruction of the Lord. Colossians 3:21Fathers, do not embitter your children, or they will become discouraged. Hebrews 12:7Endure hardship as discipline; God is treating you as sons.
