Those are easy words to say, but not always the easiest to act upon or understand. The best way to get a grasp on what it means is to look to the bible verses about accepting Christ. In scripture we find a comprehension about this important step in becoming a Christian: Understanding Jesus' Importance For some people, having a greater understanding about Jesus helps us in accepting Him as our Lord. Here are some Bible verses about Jesus to help us get to know him better: John 3:16For God loved the world so much that he gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life. (NLT) Acts 2:21But everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved. (NLT) Acts 2:38 Peter said, “Turn back to God! Be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ, so that your sins will be forgiven. Then you will be given the Holy Spirit." (CEV) John 14:6 “I am the way, the truth, and the life!” Jesus answered. “Without me, no one can go to the Father." (CEV) 1 John 1:9But if we confess our sins to God, he can always be trusted to forgive us and take our sins away. (CEV) Romans 5:1Therefore, since we have been made right in God’s sight by faith, we have peace with God because of what Jesus Christ our Lord has done for us. (NLT) Romans 5:8But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us. (NIV) Romans 6:23For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord. (NIV) Mark 16:16He who has believed and has been baptized shall be saved; but he who has disbelieved shall be condemned. (NASB) John 1:12 But to all who believed him and accepted him, he gave the right to become children of God. (NLT) Luke 1:32He will be great and will be called the Son of God Most High. The Lord God will make him king, as his ancestor David was. (CEV) Accepting Jesus as Lord When we accept Christ something changes inside of us. Here are some Bible verses that explain how accepting Christ moves us spiritually: Romans 10:9So you will be saved, if you honestly say, “Jesus is Lord,” and if you believe with all your heart that God raised him from death. (CEV) 2 Corinthians 5:17Anyone who belongs to Christ is a new person. The past is forgotten, and everything is new. (CEV) Revelation 3:20 Look! I stand at the door and knock. If you hear my voice and open the door, I will come in, and we will share a meal together as friends. (NLT) Acts 4:12Nor is there salvation in any other, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved. (NKJV) 1 Thessalonians 5:23May God himself, the God of peace, sanctify you through and through. May your whole spirit, soul and body be kept blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. (NIV) Acts 2:41Those who accepted his message were baptized, and about three thousand were added to their number that day.
