Here are some popular Christian fiction and non-fiction audiobook choices to consider. 01 of 10 Everything Is Possible by Jen Bricker Image Courtesy of Christianbook.com Jen Bricker was born without legs and then placed for adoption into a loving family who lived by the motto: "Never say can't." This unstoppable young woman soon began proving that nothing is impossible with God. She conquered numerous sports, including rollerskating, volleyball, aerial artistry, and power tumbling. Jen's gracious spirit, indomitable determination, and her challenge to "be brave; dream big; have faith" will inspire and encourage you to believe that everything truly is possible. 02 of 10 Heaven by Randy Alcorn Amazon Randy Alcorn provides listeners with a thoroughly researched biblical description of heaven. Many believers have serious questions about heaven, and also some not-so-serious questions. Alcorn addresses these issues and helps us develop a greater understanding and a more profound longing for our eternal destination. 03 of 10 Not a Fan by Kyle Idleman Image Courtesy of Christianbook.com Do you sense a shallowness to your relationship with Christ? Do you feel more like a fan of Jesus than a fully committed follower? Kyle Idleman believes every true Christian must understand the difference. His book, Not a Fan, shows readers what it means to stop living for self and start experiencing a 100 percent commitment to Christ. Only then can we become true followers. Idleman uses Scripture, straightforward, everyday examples, and plenty of humor to call believers to become more than just "enthusiastic admirers" of Jesus. 04 of 10 Heaven Is for Real by Todd Burpo Image Courtesy of Christianbook.com When I completed this audiobook, I thought, "Every Christian ought to hear this!" It's about a four-year-old boy, Colton, who has a near-death experience. In the months following, he begins to share snippets of this experience with his parents, who are stunned by what their little boy reveals. The true story was so moving, at times I had to stop and just marvel as I worshiped the Lord. I could easily relate to the characters. The narrative flowed with a casual, conversational, and humorous style that I thoroughly enjoyed. There was nothing artificial or spiritually contrived about this family. Colton's story is told through the eyes of his father, Todd Burpo, the senior pastor of a small Wesleyan church in Nebraska. He's down-to-earth, and his book is incredibly uplifting in light of what we know about heaven in Scripture. It's a short, easy listen, perfect for a long drive. 05 of 10 The Mountains Bow Down by Sibella Giorello Image Courtesy of Christianbook.com When I discovered this audiobook, the author, Sibella Giorello, instantly became a new favorite of mine. I'm totally captivated by her writing style. She's engaging, humorous, and intelligent. The book is part of her "Raleigh Harmon" FBI murder mystery series, and it's set on an Alaska cruise. My husband and I took our long-time dream Alaska cruise vacation two summers ago, so the book grabbed me immediately. I'm also a forensic mystery devotee, and the heroine, Raleigh Harmon, is a trained forensic geologist. The best part--Sibella is a Christian, so there's no foul language or sexual content to wade through. I appreciated the expertly-packaged spiritual content in this book. No artificial, hokey characters or dialog. So refreshing! 06 of 10 Her Mother's Hope / Her Daughter's Dream by Francine Rivers Image Courtesy of Christianbook.com One of my favorite Christian fiction authors, Francine Rivers has penned another saga spanning multiple decades in a two-book tale exploring the complex relationship between a mother and daughter. You'll journey three generations from Switzerland through Europe and eventually to Canada and the United States. The women face challenges, tragedy, and war, as they learn the lessons of unconditional love and sacrifice. Although barriers threaten to divide them forever, with God's grace and forgiveness they rebuild bridges of healing. Both titles in the series are available in audio format at Audible.com. 07 of 10 Crazy Love: Overwhelmed by a Relentless God by Francis Chan Image Courtesy of Christianbook.com Francis Chan is a pastor and the president of Eternity Bible College in California. He's written Crazy Love as a challenge to make believers really think about God's love for us and how the Creator of the Universe demonstrated crazy, passionate love through the sacrifice of his Son, Jesus Christ. Each chapter asks a thought-provoking, self-examining question to help you carefully consider your beliefs and actions toward God and about the Christian faith. 08 of 10 Fearless: Imagine Your Life Without Fear by Max Lucado Image Courtesy of Christianbook.com Is fear holding you prisoner? As always, the bestselling author and pastor of Oak Hills Church in Texas, Max Lucado, has a timely message for people facing a real problem in today's unsettling economy, overwhelming atmosphere of anxiety, growing violence, and media-driven fear. Turning our doubts and fears into hope and faith in Jesus is the answer, and Lucado illustrates how to do this with lessons from the life of Jesus, as well as his own personal experiences in beating fear. 09 of 10 The Ambition by Lee Strobel Image Courtesy of Christianbool.com Although Lee Strobel is most known for his nonfiction Christian apologetics works including the "Case" series, The Ambition launches his fiction writing career. While I thought this first novel left some room for improvement, I'm optimistic that Strobel's fast-paced, well-constructed legal thriller is just the start of many intriguing adventures to come. The Ambition takes shape in a thriving, suburban megachurch as its leadership grapples with the resignation and potential Senate appointment of a disillusioned senior pastor. While a skeptical newspaper reporter tries to sniff out a scandal in the church, a misguided attorney seeks freedom from his gambling addiction and a way to rectify his crimes. Because of his entanglement with the mob and dealings with a crooked judge, the attorney's life and the lives of everyone he confides in are threatened. 10 of 10 The Beloved Daughter by Alana Terry The Beloved Daughter by Alana Terry. Image Courtesy of Alana Terry The Beloved Daughter instantly captivated me with the real to life story of a young woman enduring excruciating and brutal suffering in a North Korean prison camp. It gave me a heartrending image of the terror, deprivation, and humiliation our brothers and sisters in closed countries endure daily because of their faith in Jesus Christ. This reality is something Christians in America need to encounter up close. Terry's characters are authentic, struggling, scarred, sometimes weak, sometimes bold, everyday, heroes of faith. I could relate to these characters. With her debut novel, Terry has won my respect. I look forward to hearing what she publishes next.
