Ariela Pelaia


Ariela Pelaia is a former contributor to LiveAbout. She began studying Judaism in 1998 as an undergraduate at Wellesley College. Her studies continued at Columbia University, where she earned a master's degree in Jewish studies. In 2006, Ariela received the prestigious Wexner Graduate Fellowship to study at the Jewish Theological Seminary of America. 


A professional religious educator, Ariela has taught children, teens, and adult students for more than a decade. In addition to writing for Learn Religions, Ariela has contributed to publications such as Kveller and The Jew & the Carrot. She currently works as a web designer and digital marketing consultant. 


Ariela holds an M.A. in Jewish Education from the Jewish Theological Seminary of America, an M.A. in Jewish Studies from Columbia University, and a B.A. in Psychology and Religion from Wellesley College.
